Xtreme Clutch Release Renault Megane Upgrades

Xtreme Clutch is now offering a range of performance upgrades to suit the 2004-2008 2.0L Renault Megane Sport & RS. The new kit has been designed with a lightweight alloy pressure plate, 4140 chromoly flywheel and is available with a wide variety of friction discs including sprung organic for street use, sprung ceramic for motorsport applications or a rigid carbon for motorsport applications requiring exceptionally high heat capacity.

The new kits have been developed to significantly increase the torque capacity of the clutch whilst retaining low rotational inertia for improved throttle response. “Our performance upgrades to suit the Renault Megane Sport and RS have been designed for performance street applications and motorsport applications that require increased torque and heat capacity.” Explains Xtreme Clutch Mechanical Engineer, Stewart Furze, “We have designed the kit to ensure that the rotational inertia is kept to a minimum without compromising driveability and have also included a dual-mass to single-mass flywheel conversion that is more suited to performance applications.”

The kit also includes all of the accessories required for an efficient installation and long-term reliability such as a replacement concentric slave cylinder, replacement spigot bearing, pressure plate bolts as well as an alignment tool.

As the performance and racing division of Australian Clutch Services, Xtreme Clutch put each product through extensive testing in their comprehensive research and development facility. The kit has been developed to suit the tuning market where these cars are proving to be excellent platforms for aftermarket performance upgrades. With a 600 Nm peak torque capacity with the sprung organic friction disc, Xtreme Clutch says this kit is the ideal solution for performance street vehicles and is likely to be the most popular option in the range. “As most of these vehicles that have had performance modifications are still used on the street, our sprung organic upgrade is the ideal solution for vehicle owners looking for increased torque capacity and performance whilst retaining close to OE levels of driveability.” Says Stewart.
